Shortly before the 1900s, Henri Ryst supplied the large transatlantic liners from Cherbourg where he had his warehouses.
A large part of the clientele of these liners was wealthy and very demanding on the quality of the products.
From this period dates the first imports of great ports and whiskeys which make our reputation.
Every year for more than 100 years now, we have been going to Scotland and Portugal to select small productions of exceptional quality, which are then bottled on site under our brand. These products, you can imagine, have nothing to do with common alcohols...
PORTS
JWHART
The Vintage JW Hart Ports come from the same harvest, without blending. They come from Vila Nova de Gaia , in Portugal , in the high Douro Valley . They are aged in barrels and only the best years are retained, which are then vintage. Each bottle bears the seal of the guarantee of the National Institute of Port Wines .
WHISKEYS
CAPTAIN BURN'S
Premium single malt from the finest Scottish distilleries . Single malts aged for a minimum of 8 years in oak barrels. During all these years, they acquire their more or less blond color, their delicate aromas which are of great variety. As with ports, Captain Burn's whiskeys come from a particularly rigorous selection and only the best years are kept to become vintages. It is this intransigence on quality that makes it one of the most recognized brands in France.
